Senior Class Administrative Assistant

Position Assessment
As the Senior Class Administrative Assistant I have worked with my fellow class offieres to effectively work on things that needed to be done. During Pow-Wow my fellow officers and I sold class merchandise, selling t-shirts, hoodies, and crewnecks. However in order to do this my fellow officers and I met over the summer to work on our procedure form and crest out merchandise designs. We came to the conclusion of doing a t-shirt, crew neck and hoodie. Before the actual event of Pow Wow we figured out shifts, cash box, social media posts and several other tasks in preparation for the event. During Club Rush we also sold senior merchandise and for that event we did several of the same tasks for Pow Wow. After both events the Senior Officers made the purchase order and finalized said purchase order to order the merchandise. Merchandise sales was a successful event and we expect to make $1000+ profit. Also worth noting that the morning before school started the Senior officers hosted Senior Sunrise. I’m preparation for Senior Sunrise we got tables, garbage cans, donuts, juice, in order to have a successful event. The week before sunrise we hosted a class tie dying session where people would bring a white shirt and then tie dye them, that way on the day of Senior Sunrise the entire class would be matching. Outside of my immediate position, I helped the ASB team plan the Back To School Dance. I was mainly responsible for publicity and spent most of my time in the storage room. Many people helped make posters, make flyers, and put both up. I say that Publicity was good as we did have a great turnout for ticket sales. I also helped manage ticket sales throughout the week and during lunch BTSD tickets would be sold and I would help either by doing the cash box or filling out the google form for the dance. Though the dance was postponed for September 18 I believe it will be a success. Moving forward the Senior Officers are working in preparation for homecoming, while also distributing class merch when it arrives.
Standing Committee
At this time I am participating in Link Crew as a member. In this committee, we helped run freshmen orientation and show freshmen that were in our specific groups around campus. We called each individual beforehand to let them know about the event and what to expect. At orientation we let the freshmen know specific things that they should know when starting their high school career. For the first day of school, Link Crew wore our shirts to help freshmen who didn’t know where to go. I also helped parents during Back to School Night by guiding parents to where they needed to go for their child’s classes.
Special Committee
I am currently a part of the Dance Committee, specifically the Publicity portion. Along with Abby Thompson, we both managed poster making and flyer making and getting people to put them across campus. Making dates for when posters will be made and when to publicize was key in our role for the overall Dance Committee. An announcement form was also made which went on every morning during the week of ticket sales.
Mentorship Evaluation/Completion at time of Meeting
My mentorship partner is Gabby M and this is her first year in leadership. That being the case I helped her a lot with figuring out important documentation and things she must know for leadership. Going through everything step by step I think helped her get a better understanding of the program and of the work that must be done. Whenever she has any question she sends me a text message and I am quick to answer, and if I don’t know the answer to a question I will always ask others to help me answer her question. Overall I’ve been getting to know Gabby more and can’t wait to see her at her full potential, later on in the future.
Concerns
At this time my main concern is the lack of understanding in the program. When homecoming begins to happen, which it already is, freshmen and sophomores don’t know what to expect. This also applies to the juniors as they were still freshmen when they had their first homecoming. Yes it is normal for freshmen to not know about homecoming, but I am worried about the future of homecoming.
Positive Comment
I would like to leave a positive comment for Avery. The girl was stressed for dance preparation but she did incredible especially in such a tight time frame. The rescheduling of the dance was out of her control but I can expect the dance to be a huge success when it happens.
Change
At this time I don’t see any particular change worthy of being noted. The only slight change I would like to see is the interaction between classes because at the beginning there was no wall dividing the classes but I feel as though that wall is being built as we progress.
My impact
As the positive individual that I am, I have made an effort to help those that need help in these troubling times. As the school year starts many people are stressed and taking time to readjust and I help people that need some stress alleviation or help with readjustment. I will always make an effort to make people smile and help whenever asked to help.
