April/May
Bryan Ochoa
Senior Class Administrative Assistant

Position Assessment
The months of April and May were very busy for the Senior Officers. Continuing to focus on Senior Activities I have focused on making sure each event is run smoothly. I have made many Purchase Orders for each event that occurs. Some of the events that the Seniors have been active in mainly relate to the end of the Year and Graduation. The class of 22 Senior Gift had arrived, this consisted of different Yard Signs that would be used to celebrate the many events Ripon High puts on for example, Homecoming, Winterfest, Dude be Nice and Club Rush. The Seniors have also taken an active role in Baccalaureate and working with Sylvia Ochoa to make sure the event is run well. We have two speakers for Baccalaureate, Brandon Boyce and Chessa Johnson, while we have also been working on the pamphlet for Baccalaureate. For Graduation we have purchased tickets, passed out gaps and gowns, and have done our best to keep the class updated on everything Graduation. A recent event that we have had was College Reveal, which was a success. Cookies were made by Shakey Bakes and the seniors that participated enjoyed it. Though the Officers did not need to do much for the event we made sure to publicize and keep the class informed. The Senior Officers have also just finished putting on Grad Nite Trip. Working with Vasche to make sure everything went well, the event was an overall success with a few hiccups. Emma and I went to Costco with Vasche to get all the muffins and water, but there was a hiccup there. We passed out the food the morning of the Disneyland trip. Past that point everything was out of our control and we made sure to have fun and enjoy our celebration as Graduating high school seniors. An upcoming event the seniors have for may is Yearbook Distribution. We have worked with Mrs. Ochoa and yearbook to make sure the event is run well. We have Kona Ice coming and seniors will have the chance to get Kona Ice, while receiving their yearbook. I believe it will be a popular hangout event for the class. Outside of my position I have taken an active role in the challenge. I was a part of the Student Appreciation Committee, and created the purchase orders for the Otter Pops, Cookies, and for the End of the Year Dance food. Though there were problems with communication and people's level of commitment to the Challenge, I think it was an overall success. The Seniors have also finished Farewells, and I did my farewell in April. An emotional moment for all but a moment greatly appreciated.
Standing Committee
I am a member of Link Crew, however as Link Crew is preparing for events it is mainly the new Link crew members that aid wherever. I am not a part of any other standing committee.
Special Committee
I was part of the Student Appreciation Committee for the Challenge. I took an active role in coming up with ideas on how to show appreciation for the student body. A Jeopardy game was held, which was a success. Cookies passed out as well as Otter Pops and leis.
Mentorship Evaluation
This past few months I have not been able to communicate with Gabby. However I would like to say that I like being able to see her growth in the program, as well as her branching outside of Leadership. I am always willing to lend help to her when possible but I get the feeling that she can persevere through any challenge.
Concerns
I’m concerned with the workload that I did not think was possible. On top of finals and making sure I maintain at Least C’s each event stacks on top of one another. I have little free time and I only consider my free time as an opening for other things to be added onto my schedule. The negative energy is present and I dislike it greatly.
Positive Comment
Positive comment to Emily Sesser for stepping up during the Challenge and sticking through it despite the adversity.
Change
I would like to see less stress and negativity as we are approaching the end of the year. I only want the best for my Leadership family.
My Impact
By making sure activities are going well, I have been able to have a positive impact on the school and positive environment as a whole. The challenge and Senior events are running smoothly and allow other seniors to enjoy the rest of their time.
